Eneridge Secures CARB CORE Program Approval– First Korean ESS-Based Mobile EV Charging Solution Registered in the U.S.
Eneridge Inc. has successfully achieved official registration of the MC-ELEY-90 mobile EV charging system under California’s Clean Off-Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project (CORE), administered by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). This milestone marks both the first-ever registration energy storage system (ESS)-based mobile charging solution by a Korean company to be approved under CORE.
Eneridge led the entire certification process, including technical validation, regulatory compliance documentation, and local testing coordination, ensuring that the equipment met CARB’s rigorous technical and environmental standards. The MC-ELEY-90 was jointly developed with Korea-based TBU Inc., while Eneridge spearheaded the efforts to achieve CORE eligibility and facilitate U.S. market entry.
Equipped with an 86 kWh lithium-ion battery and capable of DC fast charging, the MC-ELEY-90 enables businesses and organizations in California to receive a minimum of $34,000 per unit in subsidy when purchasing the model through the CORE program. With this approval, Eneridge is now able to offer a more competitive pricing structure to local businesses and public institutions, starting in California and expanding nationwide.
Eneridge President Seonae Min stated, “Achieving CORE program approval is a significant milestone that positions Eneridge as a leader in advancing EV charging infrastructure in the U.S. market. The CORE program subsidy enables us to offer more affordable and accessible charging solutions, helping customers who have faced barriers to EV adoption due to insufficient infrastructure. We are proud to contribute to accelerating the transition to clean transportation and supporting communities in achieving their sustainability goals.”
TBU CEO Steve Paik added, “This success demonstrates that Korean technology and operational know-how can thrive in the North American market. We look forward to expanding our presence in the U.S. and further strengthening our collaboration with Eneridge.”
As of 2025, cumulative EV sales in the U.S. have exceeded 5 million units, with over 25% of all new car sales in California being EVs. California has set an ambitious goal to ban the sale of new internal combustion engine vehicles by 2035 and continues to promote EV adoption through incentives and infrastructure funding.
By delivering a flexible, grid-independent mobile charging solution, Eneridge aims to address infrastructure challenges caused by delayed transmission line construction, aging power grids, and limited grid capacity—paving the way for a new era of EV charging accessibility.
